Surfer Updates:
Math- We are continuing Unit 4 in Math, working on Time on the clock and measuring with the
metric system. I am also quizzing students on Multiplication with the 3’s, 4’s and 5’s facts.
Please continue working with your children at home on Multiplication using flash cards or
xtramath.com.
Language Arts: We are continuing to read fiction and non-fiction books. In writing, we are
completing our informational writing unit, which is researching Holidays. We will be starting
our Opinion Writing genre next week!
Reading Counts: The class as a whole has been more attentive to the online quizzes and they
are getting excited about reading and read alouds. It is fun to watch the students get excited
about reading! Stay tuned for this month’s 100 and 200 point club members!!!
Homework Log: Continue Reading for 20-30 minutes each day. Also, please make sure your
children are checking their work on the reading comprehension pages that are being sent home
weekly. This is great test-prep practice for them. If you have any questions, please let me know!
Surf’s Up!!!
Valentine’s Day is this Thursday, February 14th. A flyer went home describing the
morning and afternoon events. Please RSVP if you are able to help!
Fish Eggs: We will be raising Steelhead trout from egg to fish!!! Paperwork will be
going home this week for Spring Water donations and information about the
infamous “Egg Drop!”

Matemáticas- Estamos a partir de matematicas unidad 4, trabajando el tiempo en el reloj y con el sistema métrico de medición. También estoy cuestionando los estudiantes en Multiplicación con los hechos de, 3 , 4 y 5. Por favor seguir trabajando con sus niños en casa en multiplicación usando tarjetas flash o xtramath.com.
Artes de Lenguaje: Estamos continuando leyendo libros de ficción y de no ficción. En la escritura, estamos trabajando en nuestra siguiente unidad de la escritura informativa, que es investigando vacaciones. Empezaremos nuestro escritura de opinión género la semana que viene
Lectura Cuenta: La clases como todo ha sido más atenta a los cuestionarios en línea y están emocionados acerca de la lectura y leer en voz alta. Es divertido ver los estudiantes ponerse tan emocionados de la lectura. Sigan atentos para este mes 100 y 200 puntos miembros del club.
Tarea: Continuar leyendo por 20-30 minutos cada día. También, por favor asegurarse de que sus hijos están comprobando su trabajo en la comprensión de lectura, inicio de páginas que se envían semanalmente. Esto es gran prueba de preparación práctica para ellos. Si tiene alguna pregunta , por favor dejame saber.

Huevos de Pez: Se cría trucha de huevo para los peces. Documentación se va a casa esta semana para donaciones de agua y información del infame “ Caída de Huevo!”
