Surfer Updates:
Math- We are wrapping up Unit 4 in Math. I am also quizzing students on Multiplication with the 4’s,
5’s and 6’s facts. Please continue working with your children at home on Multiplication using flash
cards or xtramath.com.
Language Arts: We are continuing to read fiction and non-fiction books. In writing, we are starting our
Opinion writing unit. The students are enjoying writing about their own opinions on topics like,
“Which season is better, Winter or Summer?”
Homework Log: Continue Reading for 20-30 minutes each day. Also, please make sure your children
are checking their work on the reading comprehension pages that are being sent home weekly. This is
a great test-prep practice for them. If you have any questions, please let me know!
Surf’s Up!!!
Egg Drop: This Wednesday the 27th is the Egg Drop! Students need to bring a raw,
uncooked egg in a wrapped package to see how it will survive being thrown off the school’s
rooftop. Students can bring the eggs in on Tuesday or Wednesday morning of this week.
Fish Eggs: We will be raising Steelhead trout from egg to fish!!! Thank you for your spring
water donations. We filled up the tank and our Steelhead Fish Eggs will arrive on
Wednesday!!! We will have our field trip to the Hatchery in April, where we will release the
eggs. Thank you for turning in your permission slips and $6.00 to help pay for the field
trip.
Conferences: I am only meeting with parents on an as-needed basis. I will send home a
conference schedule this Friday for those parents who I would like to meet with. If you donot get a schedule, but would still like to meet about your child, please send me a message.
I am always happy to meet with you about your child’s progress.

Actualizaciones Surfista:
Matemáticas- Estamos terminando Unidad 4 en Matemáticas. También doy cuestionarios a los
alumnos sobre los hechos de los 4’s, 5’s y 6’s de multiplicación. Por favor seguir trabajando con
sus hijos en casa usando las tarjetas flash y xtramath.com.
Artes de Lenguaje: Seguimos a leer libros de ficción y no ficción. En escritura estamos empezando
nuestra unidad de escritura de opinión. Los estudiantes están disfrutando de escribir sobre sus propias
opiniones sobre temas como The students are enjoying writing about their own opinions on topics like,
“¿Que temporada es mejor invierno o primavera?”
Registro de la tarea: Continuar leyendo por 20-30 minutos cada día. También, por favor asegurarse
de que sus hijo están comprobando su trabajo en la comprensión de la lectura, inicio de páginas que se
envían semanalmente. Esto es gran prueba de preparación práctica para ellos. Si usted tiene alguna

Caída de huevo: ¡ Este miércoles el 27 es la caída de huevo! Los estudiantes deben traer
un huevo crudo, sin cocer en un paquete envuelto a ver como va sobreviver de la caída
del techo de la escuela. Los estudiantes pueden traer sus huevos el martes o miércoles en
la mañana de esta semana.
Huevos de peces: Se cría trucha de huevo a los peces! Gracias por sus donaciones de
agua de resorte. Llenamos el depósito y los huevos de Steelhead pescado llegan el
miércoles! Vamos a tener nuestro viaje a la incubadora en abril, donde lanzaremos
los huevos. Gracias por regresar las formas de permiso y $6.00 para ayudar a pagar el viaje.
Conferencias: Solo me voy a juntar con los padres como una base como necesario. Enviaré
el horario de las conferencias este viernes para aquellos padres que me gustaría juntar.
Si no recibe un horario y gusta juntarse conmigo por favor envíe un mensaje. Siempre
estoy feliz de reunirse con usted acerca del progreso de su hijo.
